Tributes have flooded social media after the news that MMA star Anthony “Rumble” Johnson had died suddenly aged 38.
Johnson competed for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
During his time in MMA’s top company, he had multiple title bouts.
After leaving UFC, he signed for Bellator MMA and joined the light heavyweight division.
On September 18, 2021, he was forced to pull out of a scheduled fight against champion Vadim Nemkov, with the Bellator Light Heavyweight Championship on the line, due to an unspecified illness.
